Become a Member

When you purchase shares in our Society, you become a Member.

Membership is open to anyone over 18 years of age, businesses and organisations. We want to see as many local people join as possible, to ensure the whole community is represented.

And we welcome those from further afield too!

As a Member, you’ll have an equal say in how a community-owned Kings Head is run, regardless of how much you invest. That’s because our Society Rules ensure decisions are made democratically, using the principle of “one Member, one vote”.

You could earn interest on your investment, and there many ways to get involved with the running of the pub (if you choose):

  • Submit matters for consideration, attend or speak at Members’ Meetings

  • Stand for election to serve on the Management Committee

  • Volunteer to run specific events or liaise with local community groups

  • Propose resolutions and vote at Members’ Meetings

  • Join a Sub-committee e.g. to coordinate community events or fundraise

  • Provide feedback to the Management Committee

  • Volunteer to help with maintenance of the building, gardens or outside areas
