Membership of the Society

When you purchase shares in our Society, you become a member.
Membership is open to anyone over 18 years of age, businesses and organisations. Our aim is to ensure the whole community is well represented (but we welcome those from further afield too!)
All of our members have an equal say in how The King’s Head is run under community ownership, regardless of how much they have invested. That’s because our Society Rules ensure decisions are made democratically, using the principle of “one member, one vote”.
Members can earn interest on their investment, and there are many ways to get involved with the running of the pub:
Submit matters for consideration, attend or speak at members’ meetings
Stand for election to serve on the Management Committee
Volunteer to run specific events or liaise with local community groups
Propose resolutions and vote at members’ meetings
Join a sub-committee e.g. to coordinate community events or fundraise
Provide feedback to the Management Committee
Volunteer to help with maintenance of the building, gardens or outside areas
